It was a battle for the podium between Canadians Cassie Sharpe and Rachel Karker, who continued to push the boundaries of freestyle skiing. Coming off an X Games Aspen bronze win, Cassie Sharpe delivered as she came out swinging.

With a run consisting of a flair going inverted into a 360 off the modified shark fin feature, slashing into the traditional superpipe with a surf style, a straight air mute grab, right side 900, and finishing with into the biggest trick of the day with a left cork 1080 to land switch with a tail grab.

With a score of 85.00, Cassie Sharpe took a hard fall in Run 2 that caused her to forfeit her third run, but no one was able to take the victory from her.

“I am just happy to be up here and skiing,” Sharpe noted. Sharpe continued to comment on the pipe being modified versus traditional saying, “I like this course better than last year’s, and it’s good–it’s fun and it’s different!”
